I am looking for composers interested in collaborating on the creation of new works for solo saxophone.
This call is open to composers of all nationalities and backgrounds who are interested in exploring the expressive possibilities of the saxophone through close artistic collaboration. The selected composers will develop a new work together with me throughout the creative process, with the aim of creating and presenting a new piece during the 2027–2028 season in Vienna.
This is not a call for already completed works. Instead, I am looking for composers interested in entering into a creative dialogue and developing a new composition specifically for solo saxophone. Throughout the process, I will offer feedback on notation, playability, extended techniques, and musical ideas.
What I am looking for
Composers interested in creating a new work for solo saxophone in collaboration with the performer.
All members of the saxophone family are welcome: sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass.
Duration: approximately 6–12 minutes.
The final work should be newly composed and unpublished/unperformed before the premiere.
Pieces may include preparation techniques, extended techniques, and/or optional electronics.
What I offer
Close collaboration throughout the compositional process.
Artistic feedback and consultation regarding the saxophone.
Professional premiere performance in Vienna during the 2027–2028 season.
High-quality audio recording of the performance.
Possibility of future performances, depending on programming opportunities.
